A Few Words About the MSc programme – “Master in Law and Economics”

In the modern, globalised socioeconomic system we live in, scientists, legal experts and business executives strive to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in order to adequately respond to a rapidly changing legal, economic and social environment, and excel in their endeavours.

The Departments of Economics, Business Administration and International & European Economic Studies of the School of Economics, Business and International Studies of the University of Piraeus, have organised and run the interdepartmental Master’s Programme “Master in Law and Economics”.

In this context, the Master’s programme “Master in Law and Economics” – which is not only new, but the only one of its kind in Greece – responds to the needs and requirements of the contemporary socioeconomic reality, where law and the economy coexist and complement each other.

Our mission is to create a new generation of distinguished scientists, in the fields of law and economic science, as well as in contemporary organisations and enterprises. The synergy of cumulative, combined knowledge and critical thinking, applied to crucial interdisciplinary topics create added value, increasing the social and knowledge capital, on a societal and professional level.

The strong interdisciplinary nature of the programme is ensured by the presence of renowned instructors. Distinguished professors of law and economic science guarantee the provision of a high level of knowledge, matching international scientific standards. The use of new educational processes will enrich and reinforce traits which ensure your personal and professional development and help you achieve your lofty goals.

Career Path

Our alumni are absorbed into governmental organisations, international organisations, businesses, banks, investment organisations, independent authorities, and in the private sector in general.

Duration

The Master’s degree is awarded upon completion of three (3) semesters’ worth of courses. The programme commences in September of each academic year. Lectures take place every Friday and Saturday. More days may be added, depending on the needs of the programme.

Scholarships

The programme grants scholarships based on achievement and excellence.
